I just shake my head when the US media describes Yet another mass shooting, especially one of the "dude can't handle rejection, kills family then himself" variant as "shocking" How can something that happens [looks it up] about ONCE A DAY be shocking? Horrific I get, yes. But shocking? Give me a break. I'll tell you what's fucking shocking: that there's no way for anyone to do anything about it because of shitty politics. That's what is shocking, not the event itself. The event is—sadly—predictable, commonplace. FFS if there's less than four dead it barely makes the news. Shocking my ass.
