you can see the US defaultism in that list "credit card or driver's license" might fly in the states but over here we have walkable cities and public transit and we don't really use credit cards all that much

    @luna god the credit card thing on Steam drives me up the fucking wall. I didn't even get a credit card when I lived in the US. But at least it hasn't blocked anything I really want, yet.

    @luna mere ownership of a credit card doesn't prove you're over 18 - I've had one since I was 13. Possibly the CC companies provide some age-verification service that debit cards don't? Under the hood they work very differently to debit cards, AIUI.
