@slyka i had not yet one of these for a reverse engineering (only traditional straight CRT), wondering how the trapeziodal geometry corrention is happening
Modulation of horizontal deflection amplitude? complicated asymetric vertical deflection coils (like german prewar TV)? or a modulation voltage to a electrostatic deflection electrode (might also fix the focus)

@Laberpferd I think they modulate the horizontal deflection voltage, or at least that's part of it. There is a potentiometer to adjust the keystone distortion but I'm not quite sure what exactly is going on.
