Two weeks into returning to #Linux on the desktop (specifically #Mint), and I'm really struggling with its handling of my laptop's 4K display combined with an external HD monitor. Windows 11 just works, but no combination of scaling and font changes leaves me with a usable experience. Some apps work well while others either look huge or tiny. That, plus Bluetooth audio glitches, plus GPU-related hangs, plus it never boots first time, is making me wonder if this is really worth doing.

@flup@mastodon.scot It's probably not "#Linux" that is your problem, but the specific combination of Distro, Desktop Environment, GPU and middleware. Many people have working setups with mixed scaling - I myself have a particular config with Laptop screen 2880x1600@ 1.5 scaling, main monitor 3440x1440 @ 1.2 scaling and mobile monitor 1920x1080 @ 1.0 scaling working just fine.
