Stolas is an emotionally stunted aristocrat who has no real skills beyond social manipulation.
Blitzø is an utter asshole who takes out his lack of self-worth on everyone around him.
But the trial sequence is the climax of a multi-episode arc of them (separately) realizing they need to work on themselves and actually doing it.
So when they start literally and metaphorically singing in harmony, you're still cheering for them.

It seems to me that one of the core messages of this show is that even objectively terrible people deserve love, and that love can make them less terrible people if they commit to it.

@WizardOfDocs To be clear: Stolas is TERRIBLE at social manipulation and with people in general. Emotionally stunted, 100%. His relationship goals come from romcoms and soap operas. He is trying to push Blitzo into a relationship and doesn't REALIZE how manipulative he is being at first and breaks everything when he tries to balance things.
