Stolas' entire plan seems to be "bullshit the judges, including Satan Himself, until he comes up with a better plan." And he does, in an oratorical musical number equal parts Jack Skellington and Phantom of the Opera. The opera singer I was watching react to this scene pointed out there were way too many key changes. The melody follows Stolas' diction, the chord progression keeps changing, everything is off balance. And it looks just as precarious as it sounds.

After a couple of verses suggesting that an imp like Blitzø isn't smart enough to use a stolen spellbook, and that killing him would give him credit for some major demon's grand designs and incite an imp rebellion, Stolas runs out of ideas. "Fuck it." (absolutely WILD to get a precision f strike from a cartoon owl man.) Second chorus, he claims that he did everything Blitzø is accused of (key is still changing every few bars) and has no regrets. "I have regrets."
