After a couple of verses suggesting that an imp like Blitzø isn't smart enough to use a stolen spellbook, and that killing him would give him credit for some major demon's grand designs and incite an imp rebellion, Stolas runs out of ideas.
"Fuck it." (absolutely WILD to get a precision f strike from a cartoon owl man.)
Second chorus, he claims that he did everything Blitzø is accused of (key is still changing every few bars) and has no regrets.
"I have regrets."

Courtroom fades out into psychedelic fog. We're in some kind of headspace for the bridge. He scolds himself for getting so attached to Blitzø-- --but Blitzø is still there behind Stolas, can hear his thoughts, and he realizes he loves Stolas back. And starts singing in counterpoint. And that's the last time the key changes. End of the bridge, final chorus, they're finally being honest with themselves and each other, and the chord progression stabilizes to match.
