so late in season 2 Blitzø ("the o is silent") gets caught using illegal magic to visit Earth (it's complicated) and put on trial. The court is rigged against him, he's obviously going to be executed.
His (I'm gonna say) patron / It's Complicated shows up to defend him. As I understand it, Stolas is quite a few levels above Blitzø in the hierarchy of Hell, and defending him would be social suicide, not to mention possibly actual suicide. But he's in love.

Stolas' entire plan seems to be "bullshit the judges, including Satan Himself, until he comes up with a better plan." And he does, in an oratorical musical number equal parts Jack Skellington and Phantom of the Opera. The opera singer I was watching react to this scene pointed out there were way too many key changes. The melody follows Stolas' diction, the chord progression keeps changing, everything is off balance. And it looks just as precarious as it sounds.

does using "It's Complicated" instead of "situationship" make me sound old? Do they have meaningfully different connotations?
