@tinx I should caveat that I don’t have a ton of knowledge of my options, but I just have the base model of the A1 printer by Bambu labs and I know I would have to pay like $175 to get the AMS add-on. So I always wondered if something could be rigged up for cheaper. I’m probably missing major steps in the process because I’m very much a beginner. Regardless I have determined I should be storing my filament better!

@cinderdazzle612 building an AMS/MMU is rather complex. You can find projects online but I would not recommend building one unless you are willing to invest a massive amount of time and effort, are willing and capable to push through and learn a ton. It is an ambitious and error-prone project. This storage box is far simpler because you don't need mechanics for retracting and inserting filament, etc. It is just a neat way to store the spools and keep them dry.
