@justvanrossum Would be accepted, if there is a language expert backing it. Georg’s idea for that repo was to collaborate on a common naming/categorizing scheme since there is nothing* else for glyphs like there is for characters with Unicode. (Note it’s GlyphData.xml and not GlyphsData.xml, so not bound to any editor). Also, it would be good to know if there is a need for unencoded glyphs that are used by shaping. * Besides the limited Adobe Glyph List [for New Fonts]

    @florian @justvanrossum ‘... if there is a language expert backing it.’ Glyph names are generally script-based, not language-based, and given the technical requirements of fonts are usually most usefully derived from the Unicode character names, even though these sometimes differ from localised names in particular languages. Indeed, Unicode character names may be least useful in this respect when they correspond to language-specific names, as in the case of Sinhala, in which case the informative annotation names are more helpful.
