@stuartl True, but the big freebirth influencers cause tons of tragedies while raking in millions. And in this particular cemetery plot, seven of the nine children were stillborn (or died immediately after birth) rather than dying from illness, so I feel like the freebirth movement is relevant. https://www.theguardian.com/world/ng-interactive/2025/nov/22/free-birth-society-linked-to-babies-deaths-investigation

  • @greene Yeah, easily preventable injuries/deaths by application of a little maternity nurse profession knowledge. But, it's like the people that decide to ride an e-bike at 70km/hr without a helmet (*)… the fact that some poor paramedic has to scrape their now braindead corpse off the pavement and a person at the hospital will then be madly trying to get in touch with the person's next of kin doesn't factor into it. (Not quite this situation, but a work colleague did manage to pick a fight with a bridge railing one morning, on a normal bike and a ridiculous amount of speed, wearing a cheap bicycle helmet… but the outcome was the same. Nearly 10 years later, I still remember the frantic rush trying to get contact details to tell his wife the bad news.) Some people don't consider the consequences of their actions of those around them.
