@neil I turn off or hibernate my current Windows laptop manually. If I just close the lid, Windows wakes up later and drains the battery. Haven't gotten to the bottom of it after a lot of trying.
Now, my old faithful ThinkPad running Linux Mint - I close the lid and it suspends like it should.
