It’s been a while but I’m revisiting one of my favorite books, Pedro Páramo by Juan Rulfo. It’s a shorter read but it’s a masterwork of magical realism that explores themes of Mexican identity and generational trauma. It’s the blueprint of the genre, Gabriel García Márquez (100 Years of Solitude) once said he could recite it front to back. I will be reading his book next.
