@Kestenan (hence the 'i try to take it in the spirit in which it's offered') I know it means 'i see your suffering'. I know it means 'i'd like you to feel better'. I know it means 'i don't know what to say so here's /something/'. What it ends up feeling like is 'thoughts and prayers' and 'we'll get through it somehow' and a thousand other platitudes people have used to string me along until admitting 'i never had any intention of actually doing anything, I just had to let you think otherwise'.
