@aarontay great post - does OpenAlex Walden still not create placeholder references like the Google Scholar [citation] ones?

@nyhan I dont think it does. I think the risk of ghost references is higher cos pre Walden they only created records they could match crossref dois without. Post Walden they are matching with data cite & possibly other lower quality sources including risks
