@tml @evawolfangel yes, but the scans aren't kept in large cebtraluzed databases.again, all of this data is very sensitive to me and I expect hotels just as much as eurail to treat it better than that.

@funkylab @evawolfangel Assuming that baddies are not clever enough to do something is not good security. How do you know that there is not centralised a database kept by some organised crime organisation that collects passport/ID scans from for instance just 10% of hotels in some part of Italy? Even that would generate quite a database.

@funkylab @tml @evawolfangel well, you can’t be sure. Do you really believe every hotel has their own tiny database? And if so, do you consider these safer Thanatos one of a centralized 3rd party? Did youv ealize that online booking and checking look very similar for many unrelated hotels, increasingly so?
