@octothorpe I think that, in general, turning your app into a bunch of faceless actions that the system calls is a great way to make yourself transparently replaceable…and, given store distribution, to pay for the privilege of becoming a literal cog in the machine.

@octothorpe Making yourself scriptable wasn’t the same thing. 43+ years ago (ulp!) my first product, BRIEF, was scriptable. But it still got to define its UI, and the scripts were in *its* service, not the *system’s*.
