@essjax I wouldn’t have been surprised; the RC’s like making up ahistorical stuff about Mary.
Although, the Mary at the tomb was not Mary the mother of Christ, the one they typically write fanfic about. She was Mary Magdalene, the one Dan Brown wrote fanfic about.

@SimonCHulse @essjax as it was explained to me recently, the name Mara meaning bitter was commonly used at the time in reflection of the brutal Roman occupation of Judea. (Yes, Simon, I know it crops up in Ruth)
