@junklight Aye xP Also, for the target audience, the original films may as well not exist. They're older than they are! They were for their parents, not for them. Something new feels like it was made for them specifically, even if it's nigh identical to the original. Less cynically, a new film coming out means they get to experience it at about the same time, which gives it more cultural relevance than something they may have all seen but at different times in different contexts.
