Awake WAY too early, between the sound of the furnace turning on and what sounds like really icy wind outside. And it was chilly even with my extra fleece layer on the bed.
Trying to remind myself the temps will be summer-hot two to three days from now.
I need to make an accessible bedding pile in the bedroom, and stop putting stuff in the linen closet. It’s still several weeks until garden last frost dates, and I want flexibility for overnight temps within reach.

Was just passing the bathroom and heard the wind whistling in the ceiling fan vent, and suddenly I understood why I and the house got chilled last night. I had vent covers over the two bathroom ceiling fans all winter, so for most of the freezing weather, those openings were sealed shut. I took them down when we had a run of really hot days a few weeks ago, so I could purposely vent hot air out of the house. With last night's brisk wind turning the fan blades, my vents had to have been venting out warm house air and/or letting in cold outside air. I don't want to reinstall the covers for this on-again off-again cold, but I can close bathroom doors when I go to bed and reduce the heat loss.
