Unskippable YouTube ads. So recently, I have noticed that we are now getting unskippable ads on YouTube that are over 2 minutes long. The one I got this morning was for TV show called The landman. This thing played five times within a 15 to 20 minute radius. The next one, was this sad ad for an online school. With a voice that sounded like ai. Now look, I understand that AI is fun and all, however, this has gotten out of hand in my opinion. Recently, I've been seeing a lot of AI slop ads. These ads use a shitty TTS voice, and some are even ads to Shady products. However, let's get back to Those unskippable ads right quick. With the unskippable ads, they have a slider showing how long the ad is. But you can't actually swipe it. The slider says disabled on the phone. Believe me, I've already tried getting around it. And there's no skip button either. This is an overall YouTube vent because it seems like YouTube has taken a thousand steps back over the last few months. Now we have ai slop ads infiltrating the platform, and we have weird ads that are unskippable. Now, I want to backtrack again to the AI slop. A good example in my opinion is this one where it was talking about some wolf pack. It was called Alpha moon or something like that. It made no sense at all. And while the ad was eventually skippable, this voice kind of didn't sound human at all. It sounded like it was completely narrated by ai, and look like it was supposed to be some whole ass movie. The ad was like 22 minutes long, and I eventually skipped it after it finally gave me the skip button. Now, the landman and the online school ad are completely unskippable. Wow, it's disappointing to say the least. Just rent, feel free to disagree.
