@geoffl yeah, I've seen the stuff growing in pavements in Cambridge. It's actually from the US, but is pretty well established here. Good for Vitamin C, and thus eaten by miners to avoid scurvey apparently! (Yes, I have recently read the Wikipedia page lol.) I have been relatively amazed how fast this stuff has grown and think that with a well managed succession (which I am crap at) it could be good right across winter.
