For me this is one of the biggest sources of frustration when dealing with others. People who are privileged are often in the position of not having to improve. The privilege to not have to put in a little bit of effort now to save effort and be able to do more in the future. Sometimes also to put in a little bit to save someone else a lot of effort. After all, you can disproportionally expect more effort and more discomfort from less privileged people, to save your own ease and comfort. 8/

This also heavily applies to the relationship between autistic and allistic people. Why put in a little bit of effort to understand autistic people better, maybe learn something about them now, maybe an effort you have to go through once, if you can just expect them to adapt and conform to what you feel comfortable with? I've wondered what would be a good term for this "anti-perfectionist", anti self-improvement mindset, but couldn't come up with a better term than "subsistism". 9/
