The comet's tail is twisted and broken! #Comet C/2025 R3 (PANSTARRS) in early morning twilight, 18 April ... as seen from the mountains of southern New Mexico at 9,400 feet. A comet's tail is a good indicator of the solar magnetic field environment. Changes in field strength and direction show up in the tail's shape. The comet is now so low that I really can't capture it, except in bright twilight. Therefore, my goal this morning was to image the tail just before the beginning of morning twilight. This was taken on a fixed tripod. No star tracker.
