are people on here that have opinions about #Solid (the pod technology not the javascript framework / library)
why is it good / not good?
is it usable?
is it in use?
it doesn't seem to have the same popularity as i.e. #ActivityPub / the #Fediverse, even though the concept of solid pods seems to synergize quite well with the idea of a decentralized web, as far as i can tell

@mfru@mastodon.social I worked on Solid at Inrupt on the javascript sdk team, and the biggest problem solid has is learning curve, which is why I've been saying "AT Protocol is a bunch of the solid ideas but waaaay simpler learning curve" partly because you don't need to mess with json-ld That and not even Inrupt appear to publicly do Solid anymore, they're all wallets now, apparently?
