That's the inconvenient (AKA lazy) excuse for millions to not do enough:
- Nobody forces an individual to fly for leisure activities. Not "the system" nor anybody else.
- Nobody forces people to eat tons of meat and dairy.
- Nobody forces people to endlessly stream, take and post videos + pics, use AI.
- Nobody forces people to overconsume fashion, electronics etc.
If the vast majority of people were to reduce/minimize all of this, we'd be in a much better position.

@proscience So, first read the second sentence of my message, where I fully agree that it’s necessary. Second, to each of your “- Nobody”, let me answer “Yes, billions in advertising”. Which is an answer much too short, but that’s the gist of it. You can add people keeping cars beacause public transit sucks, people flying because trains are more expansive and sucks, etc, etc. You can be mostly carbon neutral, but it’s a huge ask. @phil_stevens
