@SamanthaJaneSmith not yet as I don't have one, but I have been trying to find someone who would be able to do that, as I think it would help to rule out biological process and maybe give some other info. First need to get the film back from Helscan where was scanned.

@nosfe I think it's the only way to go to try and find more out. I am sure you can find someone at a local college to help out. An SEM would probably help a lot but good luck finding one of those lying about. I have no expertise in photographic films but my first thought was "oh what pretty crystal growth"... 😁
