In last Friday's @cwts seminar Diana Hicks offered a critical perspective on open science. I couldn't attend, but just watched the recording https://www.cwts.nl/seminars/announcements?article=n-s2y264. Reform movements in science (RRA, OS, EDI, etc.) tend to develop dogmas that are being accepted uncritically. Good to see critical analyses like Diana's that challenge these dogmas. However, many of Diana's arguments don't really convince me, and they sometimes seem to attack a straw man. Watch the recording to judge yourself!
