@natematias @MacropodCare A more accurate analogy would be should environmentalists work from and legitimise ExxonMobil? Twitter is ExxonMobil. If you’re an environmentalist at ExxonMobil, ExxonMobil is not going to amplify your voice or give you an accurate representation of the world through the information they allow to reach you. They may, however, use your presence as PR to greenwash themselves and folks who care about the environment may think ExxonMobil is fine when they see you there.

@aral @MacropodCare Hi Aral, Great observation! I used the analogy of researchers working for industry in this article about why we need independent research.
