@aral @MacropodCare Hi Aral, Great observation! I used the analogy of researchers working for industry in this article about why we need independent research.
The problem of influence from corporations is more than an analogy, it helped prompt my own involvement in the Coalition that is organizing this collective action to protect researchers:

@natematias @aral Excellent article. My former spouse did a doctorate with #GriffithUniversity in Information Systems and the tie in with industry was huge. I mentioned "ethics" one evening vis a vis her funding and outcomes expectations and it was if I'd suggested she had become a crustian. Thank you for the reference.
