@me @jolla If they are true believers in open source, and if they do earn money on the hardware ,they should definitely want this. If their idea is to lock people into services fees and generally block other OS:s from running on their phones, they should definitely not accomodate anyone else. It's just a question of if they want to be open or closed, support digital sovereignty, or digital slavery.
