After a couple weeks of daily-driving #SailfishOS on the new Jolla Phone 2 (2026), here's my take on the European, privacy-first alternative to the Android and iOS duopoly! #Jolla #EuropeanPhone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdRT1MazTyA

Someone made a really great, native Sailfish OS app for Immich and it inspired me to finally get it set up on my home server. Really handy for automatic photo and video backup! Immich and this app are really great pieces of kit. #JollaPhone #SailfishOS

There's nothing quite like realizing how truly little data storage you actually have... after recording RAW + N-LOG HIGH video at 1490Mbps. I have suddenly taken a great interest in knowing every detail of N-LOG HIGH vs NORMAL, and the meaningful quality differences to H.265.

The Jolla Phone 2 launch event was an absolutely incredible experience yesterday. I had the chance to meet so many lovely people, engage in many great conversations including with folks that will be first-time Sailfish OS users. Here are is a big thread with some of my favorite photos, in no particular order (aside from this post ;)) #Jolla #SailfishOS

I wish more buildings looked as quirky and colorful as those near Pikku Huopalahti Park. Test shots on my Canon R50 with a Helios 44-3 lens.

Test shots with the Helios 44 at f/2 (snails) and f/2.8 (dandelion and tree). Absolutely love the bokeh and swirl! I mean, that is half the reason why I and everyone else gets the lens after all... #photography

It's been a couple months since my last #BudgieDesktop 11 stream (oof) but the sun is here, energy is back, and so are the streams! Tomorrow at 15:00 EEST: "Building Budgie 11 #5: Finding Common Ground on Outputs". We will be teaching Budgie Desktop Services to speak wl_output (via KWayland) so the Budgie 11 shell (panels, notifications, and more) can find the right displays no matter the compositor. Plan is to land wl_output support, then split it out into a library....

Now live for some #BudgieDesktop 11 dev related to Budgie Desktop Services! Objective of this stream is reduce our usage of the wlr_output_management protocol, particularly for getting output info (instead get as much as possible from wl_output). https://youtube.com/live/pmTfDJ8BtjA

VOD for 5th installment in Building #BudgieDesktop 11 streams is now up at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=399k836lSMU Good progress made on generalizing a lot of the "meta" interfaces, state management, output manager, etc. Was a deeper rabbit hole than I expected!

After 8 iterations and a bunch of shim prints, finally have my Ender 3 V3 SE bed almost perfectly level. Still have a glass bed on the way, which should fix the center being lower, but the deviation is just slightly higher than my typical layer size (0.12mm) so very happy with these results.

I had the opportunity to meet up with @jolla again to talk about (and see!) how the new Jolla Phone is progressing, including new iteration that is using tooling and not hand-made. The tolerances are really fantastic now. No gaps! The buttons and privacy switch felt firmer, with the power button now being a bit more recessed to make accidental presses harder. Gone is the antenna tape, proper antennas are now around the device. Stronger battery shield. There were some design changes made to the...
