All my experiences with self hosted project management software is they all suck.
For all the hate Jira gets, I think it's entirely unjustified and probably comes from unskilled Jira administrators. Jira is kind of a Project Management operating system, and it's hard to make it as flexible and reliable.
I've tried Redmine and the GitLab open source version but they really aren't very good.

@ulveon Even though I agree with most of what you said, I'm not paying Jira for personal projects. So I'll do some research and choose the "least bad" option. 😄 I'll take a look at Redmine. Thanks.
