When I wrote that long ass blogpost I had my most stubborn friends in mind, they won't even join fedi, whatever takes discords place in the collective subconscious needs to be easy to sure most of all

@dielan @nsoddity for disclosure i've not tried delta chat cuz i do not know anyone who uses it nor is interested in trying, but from what i've seen it ought to be as easy as installing the app and registering an account in a public instance, accounts do confirmation by email only as that is the technology the whole thing is built upon. will install deltachat later to check it out
