@rexo@st.transbus.social Most home receptacles will have 3 prongs to support Type B plugs. the 2-prong design (Type A) is older and largely not used anymore (besides for cost cutting). The big difference is that the thicker third prong is ground, and type a plugs are ungrounded

@rexo@st.transbus.social additionally there are plugs that have an extra notch in the left insert of the receptacle that indicates its output is 20A/125V compared to 15A/120V, and furthermore some that look similar but are 20A/250V.
