@mhoye I wen to SF's suburbs a few years ago, one of the few times I was in the US. Lined with cars, for kilometers. It was shocking. 3-4 cars per house. Because the region was hilly, I could see the suburbs extend everywhere and imagine it was the same situation everywhere. Insane.

@mdione I used to walk from the hotel to the office in Mountain View in the morning, and walk back at night, entirely alone both ways. Cars and cars and cars, parked and moving for miles, and I was the only person on foot.
