@ljwrites I think transphobic cis people project their own hangups and prejudices on trans and non-binary people. As in, they think we absolutely want everyone to want what we want, and that we'd have a problem if someone thought about their identity and figured out "I'm cis". I'm pretty sure most of us don't have a problem with that. It's a reskin of that old "I'm not a feminist, because I can cook/want to marry/want to be a housewife". Everyone having their own sort of deal is the POINT. It's about autonomy and freedom. But since transphobe can't imagine things not being the way they want them to for EVERYONE, they conclude trans people must be the same way. So every little prod from a trans person to a questioning person is seen like propaganda and forceful "conversion" by transphobic people, because that's what THEY want to be able to do to trans and/or non-binary people xP
