Instagram now shows a forced ad break - when you didn't allow the usage of your personal data for personalised ads.
What a great next level of enshittification. And what a wonderfull trigger to just close this app.
I makes me really feel all fuzzy and cosy when I think of the experiences I have here in the fediverse with Mastodon and Pixelfed.

@sturmsucht At this point Instagram is 85% ads and random trending posts, and 15% stuff from the people you know. I'm all for seeing reposts because it's much like boosts here, and it means someone I made the choice to follow chose to share it, but even those are scarce and buried among the randomness and the promoted content.
