still poking around alternative editors to neovim and helix feels really good. it's using vim keybindings for the most part so very little learning curve, and supports all the features i need out of a terminal ide, with no shady external dependencies or plugins.
there is at least one commit in it that was co-authored by claude, but there are positive discussions that they may be incorporating an acceptable (to me) ai contribution policy.
i still have emacs in my back pocket if it doesn't work out, but i might roll with helix for a while.
