We can, at least for the time being, avoid systemd-userdbd. Avoiding portals, though, is way more complicated. That specific MR seems to have been closed (https://github.com/flatpak/xdg-desktop-portal/pull/1922), but IDK if they're going to try again. The other one is still open (https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/accountsservice/accountsservice/-/merge_requests/176)
