    @blp @tshirtman been eating the stuff as long as, possibly longer than, Americans and Canadians. We call it "peanut cheese" because that's what used to come out of Suriname, blocks of thick peanut "cream" you would cut with a knife.

    @blp @tshirtman I don't think we have any particular feelings because we take it for granted. Calvé, a brand of peanutbutter, used to, and probably still does, advertise with the slogan "Calvé, who hasn't grown up with it". And it might not have been Calvé, but we all have had it at some point in our youth. If not as a bread topping, then as a sauce with fries, fried rice or saté. Colonizing Indonesia being the source of the two latter ones and propably the pervasiveness of the stuff in general.
