@brendan I was 21 and in Seattle when it happened so I was geographically detached but I remember my partner at the time was really angry and wanted revenge and while I agreed that it was a heinous act of war I was also like, "shouldn't we understand why these folks are pissed off?"
And 25 years later we still can't have that discussion
And seeing how as Americans we can't agree about what caused the Civil War, I'm not sure we can ever have that discussion

@secretasianman I was living in Battery Park City and saw it out the window. Watched the first tower fall from a ferry in the Hudson River as I was fleeing to New Jersey. I hated the way it was exploited from the beginning but for the people in the city the feelings were real.
