There is exactly one person at fault here (and I say this as someone who absolutely supports "Stop Cop City" and the associated movements - abolish the police): the person who wanted anonymity and paid with their own credit card. I don't know if it's ignorance or what, but that's about the stupidest thing you can do.

If you want to remain anonymous, don't use your own goddamn credit card, FFS. Use cash. Proton *literally provides this option* for exactly these kinds of sensitive cases. It's pretty much a no-brainer that as soon as you link a credit card to something, your anonymity is gone. That card is linked to you! 3/?
