But it's not supposed to guide it down, it's supposed to keep it up.

Stay makes more sense, but then I can't get a gender joke out of it, just a petplay joke.

@pockets Thats just what I thought when I was younger. I learned otherwise later on. But you're right, calling it a stay would ruin the gender-related joke...unless...no. you're correct. .
