@Starfia In the US, companies are their own thing. Nintendo is Nintendo, and Nintendo exists regardless of the people involved.
In the UK, companies are plural because they are considered to be the sum of all the people involved. Nintendo are the owner and all employees collectively working together towards a common goal.
Kind of like the difference between "coworker" and "colleague" that we discussed some time ago. :-)

@GrahamDowns – Good to see you on this end. ^ ^ Both Steve Jobs and Tim Cook (most recently this month) have pointed out that a company is a group of people, and it feels deliberate because that does feel sort of inapparent in the US; feelings about corporations seem to derive from a not-recent ruling that for many purposes, a single corporation is considered identical to a person for legal accountability, even given the lack of existence of any corresponding single person.
