The recording quality of these songs plus whatever remastering magic makes this comp such a great listen. Big Mama Thornton, Guitar Slim, Lonnie the Cat, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Big Maybelle, Sandra Meade…. and more well-known artists like Howlin’ Wolf, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley and Etta James. The title track is incredible.
