In my opinion people with acquired neurodivergence deserve the same acceptance and accomodations like people who were born with a divergent neurology. For me that means that I will do my best to create a safe space for a person who experienced trauma in the same way as I do for a sound sensitive autistic person. It means that I try to handle the need for control of an ND person no matter if the cause for this need is a mental illness or AuDHD. That doesn't mean that I will endure disrespectful or otherwise shitty behaviour from a neurodivergent person beyond my capacity. An explanation and an excuse are still different things and I set boundaries to protect myself and my mental stability. It's not me to decide if a person should be able to handle their neurodivergence in a different way, but it's my decision if I am willing to cope with it or not. #ActuallyAutistic #AuDHD #neurodivergent #mentalhealth @autistics
