One thing that ‘Pink Batts’ should have taught Australia is ‘Do not trust tradies with quality and safety.’ https://theconversation.com/more-than-60-of-home-battery-installations-inspected-in-australia-are-substandard-280449 #AusPol #AusBiz

@ki_sekiya 1/2 Is this failure by the government to produce regulations with harsh enough penalties? A $20,000 fine per substandard item and a $150,000 fine for each unsafe item would seem to be likely to both A. Focus the minds of the tradies, and, B. Pay for an extensive inspection program. #Enforcement #QualityControl

@ki_sekiya 2/2 Not convinced by the stats in the article. I thought that a random sample of +70 ispections would usually provide accurate reliable conclusions. ".. the Clean Energy Regulator carried out 1,278 compliance inspections. ... The sample size in the regulator’s report is small – 0.5% of the total number of systems installed. With such a small sample size, i t is hard to extrapolate the level of installation non-compliance across all systems in Australia." #Statistics #SampleSize
