@rubdos@mastodon.social Thanks for the writeup and all the app tips! I've also used Sailfish as my main phone OS for over ten years (and N9 before that). I use much fewer apps than you do and learned a lot from your post. The Firefox news sounds great!

@rubdos@mastodon.social Now that was a high quality blog post if I ever saw one 👌 I could point that to a newbie, and also picked up a few things myself. I have been able to trim down the number of systems I have to take care of down to a few* laptops and my phone. 10III wears two hats; it's the hub of my huge infra and also a mobile phone. My setup is now location independent 🙂 As the hub/server it's the Internet access point, and the invaluable Syncthing tosses files around (notes, ownKeepass files, images...). As a phone: podQast has overtaken gPodder, Unplayer for music, Talefish for audiobooks, Skruuvi for reading the Ruuvi sensors, Whisperfish to talk to my family. Tarkka is a new great addition (which I wish I didn't need). Plants will see more usage again as the spring advances. I use Obsidian as a data storage. On the computers I mostly edit the files with neovim and on the phone I read and edit them with Notizen.md. It's a bit limping experience at the moment, but I haven't yet gotten around to improve it. That's pretty much my usage. I'm grateful for everyone that makes this possible - some of you are in this thread :blob_wink: I tried to replicate this with iPhone for a few years, but it was terrible/impossible. [*] a few occasionally run Raspberry Pi's (pies?) and old SailfishOS phones as sensor hubs in various projects

@rubdos@mastodon.social Hey Ruben! I had a great time reading your blog about #SailfishOS, but felt that I needed to say BarWal is much more than for storing loyalty cards. I use it e.g. for transferring vCards in QR-codes and many other things. Your imagination is the limit. 😉

@rubdos@mastodon.social I might be a bit biased because I wrote it, but BitSailor is probably my most used native app. Which is why I've written it in the first place - sometimes I want to turn off AppSupport and that was kinda hard when I had to open Bitwarden.

@rubdos@mastodon.social I‘m living in Germany and need QR-Codes stored in Apple Wallet on my iPhone for my mobile Transport Ticket, I guess there is an App for that, right? Is it the Storecard app you mentioned? Is there something built in?

@rubdos@mastodon.social I would also like to mention Yottagram! To my knowledge, currently only native messaging app which have functioning voice call. Also I think it is quite equal in feature wise to the native app minus the video call. Including all emojis, reactions and ”small” stuff. My favorite and most used apps are Whisperfish, Yottagram, Tooter, Dee (lemmy client), Quickddit, FoilAuth and Bitsailor. Of course I have found other stunning apps also, like Petals, ColorTubes and CountryQuiz. Thanks you!
