In 2026, knowingly deadnaming a trans person is an act of personal and political hostility, done by choice with malice. Standing up to someone who insists on deadnaming a *child* in a group of adults is an act of resistance & social courage. They’re *advertising* that they are a bully. They obviously don’t care about that child but they want other adults to know that they are a bully who will attack anyone, unprovoked. Calling them on their intentional, performative cruelty is important.
